Legal Counsel

We are now looking for a Legal Counsel who is ready to learn on the go take a step into their working career. You will support the Marketing Company Austria reporting to the Handelsrechtlicher Geschäftsführer with a dotted line to the Senior Legal Counsel Germany.

**Responsibilities include**:
Support and coordinate AZ AT in all legal matters (with German Legal Counsel and/or Austrian external legal support):

- Owner of the contract management process and SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) and Ownership of contract templates
- Implementation of national and AZ guidelines regarding all data protection requirements on behalf of the Global Data Protection Officer.
- Handles the delivery of legal advice and services to the assigned AZ client area and/or in the assigned business area
- Closely aligns with senior AZ client leaders.
- Identifies and handles present and potential legal risks in the assigned areas including legal risks associated with the implementation of critical initiatives
- Delivers the appropriate level of service, from internal and external resources, at the lowest possible cost
- Personally handles legal matters and innovative business arrangements
- Represents the views of the Legal SMT to the Legal Function
- Ensures collaboration with other Legal support areas to ensure a seamless service to clients

**Data Protection**:

- Implementation of data privacy requirements in Austria
- Cross-functional partnership with global and local internal stakeholders
- Yearly DP compliance checks and ongoing checks of compliance of AZ websites and reporting to the Local Compliance Committee
- Participation in the AstraZeneca Data Protection Network

**Contract Management**:

- Life Cycle Management of contract templates and contracts together with the Business Owners
- Coordination of Contract filling and archiving
- Support Business with the preparation of contracts
- Provide advice to contracts deviating from standard templates (vendor/supplier contracts, global/international templates, deviation request of suppliers vs. the local template)

**Required Skills**:

- University Degree in Law - Training in the field of data protection is desirable
- Proficiency in German and English
- Ideally have experience as a Corporate lawyer
- Understanding of data protection according to GDPR and national law
- Very good MS Office skills
- Analytical thinking
- Cross-departmental and strategic thinking skills
- Very good coordination and organizational skills
- Great Teammate
