MIGWELL is an FWF-NKFIH International Joint Project, which focuses on the nexus of migration and well-being
in Hungary and Austria. Using quantitative and qualitative research methods, it seeks to explore the impacts of
innovative not only because it links the concepts of “well-being” and “migration”, but also because it interprets
their two-way causal relationship within one research framework. Two research teams from the Austrian
Academy of Sciences (Vienna) and Corvinus University (Budapest) run the project in cooperation with the
University of Vienna. MIGWELL is offering a:
**POSTDOC POSITION (F/M/X)**
(part-time, 20h per week)
starting in September 1st, 2023 and ending in July 31th, 2025. Find here more information about MIGWELL.
**Your tasks**:
- Conduct research in the scientific fields of migration and well-being studies
- Analyse and visualise micro-data sets (quantitative data analysis)
- Organise and coordinate interviews and roundtable discussions (qualitative methods)
- Write and contribute to project reports and scientific articles in top-ranking international journals
- Present research findings at academic conferences
- Contribute to the administration and organization of the final project conference and networking events
- Contribute to the overall development of MIGWELL and its public outreach
**Your profile**:
- Completed PhD in Social Sciences, including fields such as Geography, Sociology and Urban Studies
- Demonstrated academic excellence and a commitment to scientific research and/or appropriate
professional experience in migration studies and/or well-being studies
- Experience in mixed methods research, including quantitative data analysis (MS Excel, SPSS or similar
software products) as well as qualitative research techniques
- Excellent proficiency in English and German. Knowledge of Hungarian is an asset
- Interest in collaborative research, creativity in both team environments and independent work
