The Global Partner Solutions team mission is to: build and sell intelligent cloud and intelligent edge solutions with partners, empowering people and organizations to achieve more. GPS is a sales organization accountable for the commercial partner business at Microsoft. Building on the GPS mission, The Surface Partner Development Manager (PDM) role in GPS organization is at the forefront of bringing Surface and the Modern Workplace to the Channel. The PDM is a business development role responsible for managing select Surface partners (resellers or distributors) and is accountable for the performance of these partners. The PDM is responsible for helping partners build comprehensive business plans to drive sales and deployment of the complete Surface portfolio. The PDM is accountable for revenue attainment and quota achievement. The partner’s performance is measured against business objectives and revenue goals established in the partner business plan developed as part of the joint fiscal year business planning led by Surface PDM Manager. The role requires hardware sales and channel experience.
**Responsibilities**:
**[Partner Transformation]** You will develop and execute strategic partner business plans for all managed partners that grow partner business and promote cloud consumption and digital transformation.- [Microsoft Business Leader] You will execute regular partner reviews and quarterly business reviews to track plan execution, identified gaps, and agrees on any correction of errors.- [Partner Sales and Consumption] You will orchestrate reviews of partner’s pipeline, top deals, and consumption targets. You will coache the partner on top deals and ensure close alignment between the partners sales team, channel managers, and other relevant teams.- [Partner Development Management] You will leverage and recruit new partners to grow business. You will interact with partners and key decision makers to identify new opportunities to sell Microsoft products and services.- [Team Mobilizer] You will assess managed partner portfolio to identify clear patterns, opportunities, and gaps in partner accounts with guidance.- Engage with both Surface PC and Surface Hub partners to drive Surface business objectives- Drive a good mix of sales across the entire Surface Portfolio growing Hub, Laptop and Go, while maintaining Book, and Pro sales volumes to budget- Foster new partner types; GSI, CSP and Telco - harnessing propensity for Surface solutions/services- Drive growth in EDU with Go- Build Modern Deployment partner capabilities to scale and connect with CSP; support partner DaaS motions- Leverage and activate scale motions and connect them to SSPs in Enterprise and WWIS
**Qualifications**:
Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Operations or related field AND 3+ years partner management, sales, business development, or partner channel development in the technology industry OR equivalent experience.
- Hardware (e.g., PC, data storage, networking, etc) commercial sales experience
- Strong reseller or distributor partner experience
- Strong relationship building and negotiation skills
- Strong communication skills
- Demonstrate an ability to make key decisions in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment including the ability to define, diagnose, and determine an appropriate resolution, recommendation, or decision while considering alternatives and factors (e.g., resources, costs, tradeoffs).
- Executive relationships: ability to interact confidently with senior leaders of the organization in order to present/defend/clarify concerns or issues regarding an existing project, program or solution
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with a high degree of comfort
- Be fluent in German AND English
- Experience developing strategies to manage pipeline and meet sales goals by reviewing forecasts, assessing, and mitigating risks, and ensuring strategy alignment with business priorities.
- Display a proven ability to manage sales opportunities and/or deals through communicating and collaborating with others and leveraging resources and tools
Strong influence and orchestrator skills helping align Microsoft and partner resources to drive solutions that support customer needs.
