Job summary
The Public Policy Manager, Austria, will join Amazon’s Public Policy and Government Affairs DACH team that works across Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The DACH Public Policy team works with a wide range of national, local, and supranational policymakers, industry organizations, non-governmental organisations and academia across regulatory and policy issues in retail, consumer affairs, data and digital technology, economic development, sustainability, customer trust, transport and logistics.
As Public Policy Manager, Austria, you will coordinate across Amazon’s business to develop and implement positioning and engagement strategies. You will have an astute understanding of the public policy and regulatory environment and stakeholders in Austria. You will coordinate stakeholder engagements and events, building Amazon´s profile and reputation. You will lead external advocacy efforts, outreach programs, partnerships, and initiatives. You will coordinate Amazon’s engagement with relevant industry associations and wider coalitions, and manage consultancy support. You will be able to manage and drive complex projects, and provide clear and confident guidance, including in situations of high ambiguity.
We are looking for an experienced public policy professional with strong business judgement, who can work thoughtfully and collaboratively across global teams and time zones and within wider regional and international structures. The individual should be a self-starter, highly organized and able to communicate effectively and efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude and sense of humor, even under pressure, in a fast-paced work environment.
The position is based in Vienna, Austria.

- Astute understanding of the policy environment in Austria
- A self-starter who can take general direction and produce specific results
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills
- Proven track record of successfully working with a wide array of functional groups across an organization, as well as working independently
- Experience working collaboratively in a highly-matrixed environment, alongside legal, PR, and business teams
- Proven ability to build effective partnerships with business owners and technical partners.
