Quantitative Analyst

Strategy / Business Development - Baden - Hybrid Remote

Over the past years, Axpo's battery team has developed an optimization platform for evaluating battery projects and optimizing battery assets in operation. You will continue the development of our quantitative solutions and customize them to the project needs of the team.

**What you will do**:

- Conceptualizing new approaches for valuating battery projects
- Implementing optimization strategies
- Defining and working on interfaces between the optimization platform and other Axpo software / third-party software components as well as deploying software in the cloud
- Initiate and drive collaboration across Axpo's offices in Europe, managing the deployment of IT infrastructure to effectively use the software of the battery team across a diverse range of operational systems
- Serve as a point of contact for the users of the software, addressing their questions and requests. Additionally, lead the implementation of software changes and updates to meet user needs

**What you bring & who you are**:

- You have a University degree in engineering, computer science, applied mathematics, natural science, or in a comparable discipline
- You have good programming skills, especially Python
- You are familiar with software development & deployment concepts, frameworks, and best practices like Git, Visual Studio, Azure, Docker or Kubernetes
- You have knowledge of the energy sector, gained through industry work or academic research projects
- You are experienced in working collaboratively on modeling, software, and IT projects
- You are skilled in mathematical optimization (linear programming) and applied data analytics
- Knowledge of the European electricity market or experience with stationary battery storage systems like energy management system, control software, data management, etc. is a plus
- You have excellent English skills, any other language, especially German is a plus
