The
**Vice President, Projects, EMEA (VP, Projects, EMEA)** is responsible for leading a team of Program Managers, Project Managers, Site Managers and System Integration Managers to execute the projects in our orders backlog across the EMEA-region. Success metrics include executing on time, at or below budget, and with quality and high Client satisfaction. This role will provide strong leadership and overall strategic and operational direction for the regional project organization, closely aligned with other organizations within EMEA and the US. This position requires strategic thinking, a high level of energy and enthusiasm for hard work, and an “ownership” attitude. The Vice President, Projects, EMEA is in charge of not only day-to-day operations, but also the financial well-being of the various projects under his/her supervision.
**Responsibilities**:
- Lead, guide, develop, and manage a team of project managers, program directors, site managers and system integration managers
- Ensure Fortna’s vision, mission, and business goals are understood and maintained in all strategic, tactical, and operational business activities and decisions
- Drive collaboration throughout engineering, procurement, software delivery, third-party partners and other involved Fortna parties to ensure alignment on roadmap and project deliverables
- Own the overall project lifecycle from kick-off meeting until final acceptance for all Fortna projects in the region and ensure a consistent approach in alignment with the global PMO and defined standards within the organization
- Manage budgets, schedule, and scope and support in building budgets and schedules for upcoming projects
- Interface with the EMEA sales and consulting organizations to evaluate demand and forecast resource requirements ahead of the need
- Identify and build needed partnerships where required with third-party companies to achieve our tactical and strategic goals
- Develop a robust set of scorecards and operating mechanisms to keep many parallel projects on track; track quality metrics and create effective feedback loops to drive continuous improvement efforts
- Drive accountability across the organization to adhere to project schedules and financial commitments
- Continuous measurement and reporting of client satisfaction and identify parameters of client satisfaction; develop and coordinate plans to increase client satisfaction
- Develop a client’s first mentality by being flexible in the project delivery while utilizing our project change notice approach
- Maintaining strong relationships with Clients and prospects
- Mentor and coach the EMEA project team to increase their execution capabilities and potential
Qualifications:
**Education / Work Experience**:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in applicable field
- Ten+ years of experience in material handling equipment / supply chain industry
- Experience in doing business in various countries across Europe
- Experience in executing large and complex projects
- Experience in specification and contract parsing for requirement flow down
- Strong knowledge and experience in project management
- Familiar with market requirements and global industry trends
- Proven leadership experience of project organizations in supply chain industry
- Experience in leading an international team
- Expert proficiency in written and verbal communication
**Knowledge / Skills / Competencies**:
- Broad understanding of direct and indirect team management across multiple work-streams. Effectively assigns responsibilities and sets clear expectations ensuring work results are understood. Continuously aware of process, progress, and results. Assures feedback is provided for both completion of work and development
- Advanced skills for solving complex problems and developing solutions as well as teaching and developing others
- Advanced knowledge and demonstrated ability to develop and manage budgets for both complex and multiple projects. Proven ability to manage projects for on-time and on-budget metrics and partnering with Project Accountants
- Highly advanced time management competencies, with extensive experience delivering highly-complex programs and projects on-time and on-budget
- Advanced project management skills, demonstrated through requisite knowledge and experience
- Advanced presentation development and delivery skills
- Advanced client management and project leadership skills demonstrated through broad consultative experience and knowledge
- Proficient understanding of MS Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Project
**DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Master’s Degree, preferably in one of the following disciplines: business administration, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, software, or a related field
- PMP or IPMA
