- An advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in business or public administration, finance, accounting, law, social sciences or related area is required. A first-level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

- Over fifteen years of progressively responsible experience in human resources management, administration, general services, financial management, budget or related field is required. At least five years of experience in managing and providing technical leadership to large work units of diverse teams in at least two of the above administrative areas is required. Work experience in representing organizations on a broad range of administrative issues at the General Assembly, Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budget Questions and Committee for Programme and Coordination or similar intergovernmental bodies is desirable. Work experience in senior assignments in the United Nations system or similar international organizations overseeing the implementation of administrative policies and procedures is desirable.
- Languages
- English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another United Nations official language is an advantage.
