Director of Event Management

Job Summary
The Director of Event Management is responsible for overseeing the strategic business leadership of Event Management, including the departments of Event Planning, Banquets/Catering, Event Service, and Event Technology. This role ensures the development and implementation of departmental strategies and the execution of brand service initiatives in event management areas.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement an Event Management strategy aligned with the brand's business strategy
• Lead the execution of brand service initiatives in event management areas
• Ensure the property is apprised of all groups that will impact property operations
• Work with direct reports to review scheduled events and troubleshoot potential challenges/conflicts
• Ensure the team meets the brand's target customer needs, ensures employee satisfaction, focuses on growing event revenues, and maximizes the financial performance of the department
Requirements
• High school diploma or GED; 4 years experience in the event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related professional area
OR
• 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; 2 years experience in the event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related professional area
