Assistant Director of Food & Beverage

Join the Mandarin Oriental, Vienna team as we prepare for our pre-opening phase. We are seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Food & Beverage to oversee the daily operations of our F&B department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily operations of the F&B department, ensuring seamless execution of all food and beverage services.
  • Assist the Director of F&B in monitoring and analyzing key performance indicators, including guest satisfaction, revenue, and operating costs.
  • Conduct weekly inspections of kitchens and restaurants, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Develop and manage wine and beverage menus, ensuring alignment with the hotel's culinary vision.
  • Represent the Director of F&B in their absence, ensuring continuity of operations and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the Director of F&B and department heads to plan promotions and menus, aligning with the annual marketing plan.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal requirements affecting operations, including licensing regulations, health regulations, and fire and safety regulations.
Requirements:
  • Experience in the luxury hotel sector, preferably in a similar role.
  • Excellent knowledge of all aspects of F&B operations, including restaurant and bar management, banquets, in-room dining, culinary, and stewarding.
  • Strong numerical skills and ability to work comprehensively with spreadsheets and budgeting tools.
  • Experience in developing strategic business and/or food and beverage plans.
  • Excellent ability in forward planning and decision-making.
  • Experience in performance management and working within a multicultural environment.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
