**Summary** The Software Sales Specialist position is located in the Software Licensing Team, reporting to the Business Manager - Software Operations & Licensing. The role is responsible for the administration of quotes, orders and requests, including problem order management, and liaising between Sales, Distribution, Product Management, and BDMs. **Tasks and Responsibilities** **Training and Quality** - Undertake training with relevant vendor subject matter experts to build and maintain individual vendor knowledge. It is a requirement of this role that you achieve a comprehensive understanding of vendor ordering tools and end to end business process requirements - Provide ongoing training and information to team members in relation to order processing procedures - Provide suggestions to improve existing business procedures and processes and maintain accurate work instructions to ensure any process changes are published through the quality system **Order Management** - Issue return authorisations in accordance with company guidelines - Ensure order issues are resolved in a timely manner - Ensure the notes section of problem orders always contain detailed information as to the nature of the issue and the investigation conducted - Liaise with relevant departments to ensure customer orders, amendments and enquiries are resolved accurately and in a timely manner - Email inbox to be checked on a regular basis to ensure requests are attended to in a timely manner - Answer all telephone calls presented in a professional and timely manner - Utilise vendor websites to obtain relevant authorisation numbers, certification levels and product qualification - Provide assistance to Resellers on licensing programs, and recommend complimentary licensing programs/products relevant to query from Reseller, with efficient, prompt, clear and concise answers to telephone queries and email enquiries - Maintain a high level of initiative and enthusiasm and ensure a professional and helpful manner at all times - Build and maintain relationships with licensing and annuity Reseller contacts on an on-going basis - Act as a point of contact for customer licensing and annuity enquiries and provide quotations as required. Provide "standard" product pricing and availability to Resellers upon request. Provide quotations upon request after consultation with Account Manager/s and ensure customer requests for negotiated pricing are forwarded to Account Managers - Effectively assist in the sales cycle for the pool of Annuity opportunities on a monthly basis to ensure that the team budget is achieved - Seek out and develop new annuity opportunities in existing and potential accounts - Liaise with internal pre sales/ post sales/ sales department personnel in matters relating to product sales, developing internal relations - Work closely with Product Managers and Vendors to ensure up to date information is supplied to customers and internal staff on changes and updates to the licensing programs. Provide feedback and ideas to relevant Product Managers on Licensing and Annuity initiatives - Have an understanding of the impact of the customer's financial conditions in relation with their business needs - Provide feedback and ideas to Product Managers on licensing initiatives - Check customer annuity orders for correct pricing and product codes when experiencing problems with order entry - Produce top reseller analysis reports by vendor - Maintain an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the features and benefits of Dicker Data licensing and annuity programs and products - Produce reseller breadth reports to evaluate growth of reseller licensing base, and put together monthly emails on hot tips and updates on licensing programs to licensing customers - Maintain an understanding of the role of Dicker Data's pre-sales/post-sales technical personnel and ensure these personnel are involved in and effectively advised of customer requirements where required. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal sales staff and product management - Maintain up to date information on the licensing section on the Dicker Data website, and distribute information to customers and other relevant personnel in a timely manner - Organise and/or assist with customer licensing presentations/ seminars and training seminars as required. Represent Dicker Data in a professional manner at industry functions and customer meetings **Other** - Ensure availability for participation in system testing when required - Attend relevant vendor training when required - Provide support to the division leadership as requested – this may involve participation in systems testing, acting as an escalation contact etc. - Monitor all Software Operations databases to ensure orders and requests are completed in accordance with team Service Level Targets (SLTs) - Foster close working relationships with all departments that interact with the Software Operations team - Attend team meetings with the Software Licensing Manager and ensure minutes are updated and published - Complete, monitor and maintain relevant team reports - Assist the Software Licensing Manager to prepare individual performance reports on an as-needed basis - Take ownership of escalations and work with relevant personnel to ensure the necessary corrective action - Manage the incoming orders database and assign work to relevant team members - During periods of high volume and/ or staff shortages, process orders and requests to ensure Service Level Targets are achieved - Review daily workload and ensure that resources are allocated to required areas - Ensure that workbenches, reseller back order reports, Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA), order placement, rotations and all daily tasks are completed in line with published Service Level Targets Desired Skills and Experience **What you will need to succeed in the role** - Excellent time management and organisational skills - Strong level of written and verbal communication - Pro-active and the ability to work with little supervision - High degree of enthusiasm, flexibility and initiative - Excellent attention to detail - Understanding of Dicker Data’s operational systems and processes - Intermediate knowledge of MS Outlook and MS Excel - Strong understanding of vendor processing requirements **Our Benefits** - A highly competitive salary package depending upon experience - Hybrid and sustainable working environment - Staff only on-site gym & weekly corporate fitness classes - A selection of freshly prepared lunch options provided daily - Free on-site parking and electric parking stations - A relaxed, modern office setting with smart casual dress - Access to discounted banking, superannuation and health insurance offers via our corporate partners - Company paid parental leave scheme - Employee Assistance Program - On site school holiday program for children of Dicker Data staff
