Field Application Engineer – Quantum Key Distribution

As a key member of our team at Quantum Industries GmbH, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between our cutting-edge quantum technologies and the diverse needs of our clients. Your expertise in quantum key distribution (QKD) will be instrumental in developing tailored solutions that address the unique challenges of our customers.



Your Responsibilities

As a Field Application Engineer, you will be responsible for:




  • Expertise Development: Become a lead expert in QKD by deeply understanding customer needs and collaborating with internal teams to develop customized solutions.
  • Customer Insight: Stay up-to-date on customer strategies, technology roadmaps, and industry trends to help customers overcome network security challenges.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in customer organizations to enhance cooperation and trust.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Sales Team and technical teams to align customer requirements with product development and delivery.
  • Opportunity Identification: Identify and pursue sales opportunities that expand the project pipeline, aligning with Quantum Industries' roadmap.


Your Qualifications

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual with:




  • Educational Background: A degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, with a solid understanding of quantum physics, photonics, or cryptography.
  • Professional Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a technical role, preferably within the fields of quantum technology, telecommunications, network security, or a related industry.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in working with complex technical systems, with a strong emphasis on QKD technologies, and experience in troubleshooting and optimizing system performance.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively interfacing with both technical teams and customers.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: A proactive problem solver who can diagnose and resolve technical issues, working closely with both customers and internal teams.
