Medical Strategy Director, Plasma-Derived Therapies Innovations

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Global Medical Affairs Lead to join our team at Takeda. As a key member of our Plasma-Derived Therapies Innovations team, you will be responsible for leading the development and execution of our global medical strategy.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development and execution of multi-year global medical strategy for Device and Digital innovations, aligned with overall company strategy and incorporating PDT R&D functional strategies.
- Develop and execute scientific communication and education strategy, including publications, congress, HCP interaction, and scientific communication platform for the disease area/brand(s).
- Serve as the global expert within PDT in support of the product/disease area, including expanded access strategy.
- Lead scientific training strategy and execution, aligned with overall company strategy and incorporating R&D and cross-functional strategies.
- Act as a senior company representative interacting with external scientific leaders, patient organizations, scientific societies, and regulatory authorities.
- Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and Regulatory to ensure proper and ethical interactions between PDT Global Medical Affairs personnel and external stakeholders.
- Plan, design, and manage PDT global medical Advisory Boards as appropriate.
- Provide medical review and approval of Investigator Initiated Research (IIR) proposals and other grants through the grant approval process.
- Lead design and execution of medical affairs company-sponsored and collaborative studies in close collaboration with Therapeutic Area Unit representatives and Global Clinical Operations.
- A medical degree (MD), Pharm D, Ph D, or country-specific equivalent is required.
- Experience in launching in rare disease (i.e. neurology and/or immunology) is required.
- At least 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical medicine/medical affairs is required.
- 3 years of experience in global/international medical affairs is required.
- Experience leading teams, clinical experience in Immunology, Neurology, Hematology, Devices, and experience in field-based roles (e.g. Medical Director, Medical Science Liaison) is preferred.
- Experience in clinical development is preferred.
- Availability to travel up to 30% of time is required.
