Sustainability Governance Specialist

We are currently establishing a dedicated ESG division and are seeking a seasoned professional with a proactive approach and exceptional networking abilities to fulfill a pivotal global role:

ESG Specialist (f/m/x)
Location: Vienna
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the ESG strategy, integrate sustainability into the organizational framework, and promote a culture of sustainability throughout all levels and processes.
  • Prepare the sustainability report and assist in the ongoing development of ESG reporting mechanisms.
  • Regularly review and update the double-materiality assessment and support the ESG Director during the external validation of the sustainability report.
  • Collaborate in identifying and assessing ESG risks and opportunities, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Facilitate strong cross-departmental collaboration: Engage with key stakeholders across the organization to incorporate ESG considerations into all business areas.
  • Oversee and assess ESG-related initiatives and policies, driving continuous enhancement.
  • Stay informed on ESG trends and regulations, engaging with both internal and external partners to align with industry best practices.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations detailing ESG performance.

Candidate Profile
  • University degree.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience focused on ESG (e.g., involvement in sustainability initiatives, roles in sustainability departments, or experience in sustainability consulting).
  • Thorough understanding of ESG frameworks, standards, and reporting methodologies, along with familiarity with sustainable investment principles and ESG rating agencies.
  • Strong project management capabilities combined with a strategic mindset and adaptability to changing priorities.
  • Independent, organized, and hands-on work style with excellent time management skills.
  • Preference for cross-functional (international) collaboration and strong networking abilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills, characterized by persuasiveness and a positive attitude.
  • Resilience.
