Cloud Cost Optimization Expert

As a Cloud Engineer Finops at Dynatrace Austria GmbH, you will be part of our FinOps team responsible for forecasting, observing, and reporting cloud cost development. We strive to enable our colleagues across all levels, roles, and business units to keep track of their cloud costs using various tools and automations.
Your role involves implementing, automating, and maintaining reporting tools and consulting engineers in R&D on their own initiatives to optimize cloud costs. This includes creating forecasts for cloud services together with engineers, consulting on design choices for cloud services with a focus on cost and efficiency, tracking ongoing cloud cost optimization initiatives, analyzing billing data, and designing, implementing, and maintaining reporting tools and automations using the Dynatrace Platform (Dashboards, Notebooks & Workflows) and cloud accounts.
You will need technical knowledge of software development processes and tools, cloud services, and service-oriented architecture (SOA). Experience in at least one programming language, such as Java, TypeScript, or Python, is ideal. You should also be familiar with the Dynatrace Query Language (DQL) and have basic knowledge of at least one cloud provider, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, a proactive personality, and the ability to think beyond technical solutions. You should be able to weigh costs against benefits and understand how cloud resources and costs can impact the business.
