Sustainable Innovation Leader for Ceramic Building Materials

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced leader to drive our Research & Development program in new process technology, focusing on energy efficiency, fuel switch, carbon footprint, carbon capture, and digitalization. The successful candidate will oversee strategic direction, coordination, and implementation of R&D projects, as well as lead a team of experts in central and local R&D/project management and process engineering.
Salary: The estimated salary for this position is €5,241.38 per month based on full-time employment (38.5 hours/week), with higher remuneration offered depending on experience and qualifications.
Job Description:
- Develop and implement innovative technologies in cooperation with operations to enhance energy efficiency, reduce carbon footprint, and improve production processes.
- Evaluate external developments for applicability in our industry and optimize production processes for maximum output, environmental impact, and product quality.
- Organize and conduct internal conferences and trainings to promote knowledge sharing and skill development.
- Lead and develop a team of central and local R&D/project managers and process engineers, ensuring effective collaboration and expertise sharing.
- Responsible for budgeting and cost center management for the department.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Senior leader with academic engineering background, preferably in process engineering, ceramics, mechanical, or chemical engineering.
- Excellent knowledge in thermodynamics, thermal process engineering, heat pump technology, combustion technology, and electrical heating of processes.
- At least 8-10 years of professional experience in the industry, preferably in ceramic building ceramics.
- Proven track record of managerial responsibility in R&D and/or production.
- Experience in setting up and implementing international R&D and investment projects.
- Ability to lead a team of international senior experts.
- Familiarity with cooperation with research institutes, universities, and funding bodies.
- Strong interpersonal skills, creativity, project management, and people management skills.
