About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Research Engineer - ADAS/AD Embedded Software AI to join our R&D Team in Sankt Valentin, near Linz. As a key member of the Advanced Autonomy team, you will be responsible for software development in ADAS and autonomous driving applications.

Your focus will be on enabling the team to develop features on different target hardware platforms. You will work together with the team and attend the full feature development process, which includes validation in simulation and real-world scenarios. Additionally, you will manage and collaborate with universities and external partners.

Your Responsibilities
  • Evaluate technologies and product designs with compliance to scientific principles, engineering principles, company standards, customer requirements, and related specifications.
  • Support the development of innovative components and modules from the initial concept phase through the complete development process, including design engineering, validation, prototyping, testing, and evaluation of the proposed production-capable process and business case.
  • Contribute to team effort by providing innovative ideas for products and processes and by sharing new information with other team members.
  • Correlate experimental data to simulation data.
  • Specify requests and coordinate all sub-contracted work (i.e., S/W development, prototyping, validation, testing) and assure timely completion.
  • Confer with other project engineers to clarify or resolve problems and develop designs.
  • Maintain proper filing systems to ensure all information (electronic or hard copy) are stored according to departmental requirements.
  • Provide engineering support to other departments within the company as directed by the department leader.
Requirements
  • Strong experience in embedded software development in a technology area related to ADAS or Autonomous Driving, Robotics, or similar combination of education/experience.
  • Previous experience in Automotive OEM, Tier-1, or autonomous driving companies.
  • Proficient in embedded software driver development (board support packages).
  • Proficient in automotive operating systems, including Linux/ROS2, Docker.
  • Programming in C/C++.
  • Experience in programming Python, OpenCV, scientific packages.
  • Experience in AI frameworks and hardware acceleration.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's or higher degree in Engineering, including but not limited to: Computer Science, Electrical, Aerospace, and Robotics.

The minimum annual remuneration package for this position is EUR 60,000,- with corresponding qualification. The actual salary is higher and depends on your education and specific work experience.
