Establish a competitive research program, shape the vision of AITHYRA - Research Institute for Biomedical Artificial Intelligence, and recruit top talent as Chief Life Sciences Research Strategist. About the Position:

This is a unique opportunity to establish a leading research program in life sciences at AITHYRA. The successful candidate will work closely with Dr. Pendl and Dr. Piswanger to develop a strategic vision for the institute's research direction.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive research strategy for life sciences
  • Lead the recruitment of faculty and staff with expertise in biochemistry, molecular biology, structural biology, genetics, or related fields
  • Collaborate with the directors to shape the institute's vision and ensure alignment with its goals

Requirements:

  • PhD in biochemistry, molecular biology, structural biology, genetics, or a related field
  • Experience as a principal investigator (PI) with a track record of conducting cutting-edge research in biological fields
  • Good knowledge of modern machine learning (ML) and experience in developing new ML methods for biological applications
  • Excellent publication record and a history of securing competitive grants

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in research commercialization, technology transfer, and creating start-up companies
  • Background in the biotech industry, particularly in drug design

What We Offer:

  • Internationally competitive salary: €120,000 - €150,000 per annum
