Principal Software Architect - Circular Economy (m/f/d)

We are enhancing our Circular Economy Software R&D Team at NXP Semiconductors.

Department Overview

The Circular Economy team specializes in Sub-GHz Radio technologies for Smart Metering and Asset Tracking, utilizing advanced wireless protocols such as Amazon Sidewalk, Matter, Sigfox, Zigbee, among others.

We seek a seasoned Embedded Software Architect to define the architecture and spearhead the development of our next-generation products.

In this position, you will collaborate closely with our Hardware team to establish the Software Interfaces for future Hardware/Software Co-Design of our optimized solutions.

You will be part of a skilled team of Software Engineers and Architects, possessing a diverse technical background in software development and validation, and you will operate within an international team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define, implement, and validate specified Software architectures.
  • Provide technical leadership to a distributed Software Development team.
  • Establish Software Interfaces for Hardware/Software Co-Design.
  • Define, prioritize, and estimate Software Work-Packages at a high level.
  • Manage requirements effectively.
  • Support project planning initiatives.
  • Engage in internal stakeholder management.
Candidate Profile
  • Master's degree in Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with a focus on Embedded Software and/or signal processing.
  • Extensive experience in Software architecture specification and Embedded Software Development on microcontrollers using C/C++ and scripting languages.
  • Deep understanding of microcontroller architectures (ARM, etc.), signal processing, and real-time operating systems.
  • Proven experience in technical leadership.
  • Familiarity with Requirements Management processes.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with peers.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Experience with agile Software Development methodologies.
  • Open-minded and self-motivated team player.
  • Fluent in English.
