Principal Software Architect - Circular Economy (m/f/d)

NXP Semiconductors is enhancing its Circular Economy Software R&D Team.

About Our Department

The Circular Economy team specializes in Sub-GHz Radio technologies for Smart Metering and Asset Tracking, utilizing advanced wireless protocols such as Amazon Sidewalk, Matter, Sigfox, Zigbee, among others.

We are in search of a seasoned Embedded Software Architect to define the architecture and develop the next generation of our innovative products.

In this position, you will collaborate closely with our Hardware team to establish the Software Interfaces for future Hardware/Software Co-Design of our optimized solutions.

You will be part of a skilled team of Software Engineers and Architects, possessing a diverse technical background in software development and validation, and you will work within an international team.

Your Responsibilities
  • Define, implement, and validate specified Software architectures.
  • Provide technical leadership to a distributed Software Development team.
  • Establish Software Interfaces for Hardware/Software Co-Design.
  • Define, prioritize, and estimate Software Work-Packages at a high level.
  • Manage requirements effectively.
  • Support project planning initiatives.
  • Engage in internal stakeholder management.
Your Profile
  • Master's degree in Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with a focus on Embedded Software and/or signal processing.
  • Extensive experience in Software architecture specification and Embedded Software Development on microcontrollers using C/C++ and scripting languages.
  • Strong understanding of microcontroller architectures (e.g., ARM), signal processing, and real-time operating systems.
  • Proven experience in technical leadership.
  • Familiarity with Requirements Management processes.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with peers.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Experience with agile Software Development methodologies.
  • Open-minded and self-motivated team player.
  • Fluent in English.

Contract: This is a full-time (or part-time) position with a permanent contract.
