Master Thesis: Resilience Engineering for Automotive Power Systems

We are seeking a highly motivated master's student to join our team at Infineon Technologies for a research-oriented master thesis project. The successful candidate will work on developing and implementing advanced power distribution modeling techniques for future-ready vehicles.
About the Project:The project focuses on designing and evaluating high-availability power distribution topologies for automotive applications. The candidate will work on developing a system-level model using Matlabs Simscape and will be responsible for:
- Learning about Infineon's Smart Power Switches and their application in power distribution topologies
- Improving skills in high-level system modeling with state-of-the-art tools
- Evaluating different topologies and developing an evaluation scheme to scientifically compare them
- Designing, building, and evaluating a working prototype
- Documenting results by writing and submitting a Master thesis
Our team in Villach is a 100% subsidiary of Infineon and is located in the Villach Technology Park. We focus on the reliability of power semiconductors in automotive and industrial applications. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with our international team and contribute to the development of innovative power distribution solutions.Requirements:
We are looking for a committed master's student with a strong background in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, and System Engineering. The ideal candidate will have:
- Knowledge and experience with lab measurements, circuit design, electro-thermal simulations (SPICE, Simscape, PLECS,...) and PCB layouts
- The ability to work and communicate well with our international team in English and German is a plus
- Completed most of their exams and can start right away
