Shape the Future of Life Sciences at AITHYRA

The Austrian Academy of Sciences is seeking a visionary Scientific Co-Director to lead our Research Institute for Biomedical Artificial Intelligence. As a key member of our leadership team, you will establish a competitive research program, recruit top talent, and collaborate with our Director to shape the institute's vision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a strategic research agenda that fosters cutting-edge innovations in biological fields
  • Recruit and manage a diverse team of researchers and staff to support the institute's growth and success
  • Collaborate with the Director to drive the institute's vision and mission
Requirements:
  • PhD in biochemistry, molecular biology, structural biology, genetics, or a related field
  • Experience as a Principal Investigator (PI) with a track record of leading research teams and securing competitive grants
  • Strong knowledge of modern Machine Learning (ML) techniques and experience in developing new ML methods for biological applications
  • Excellent publication record and a proven ability to attract funding opportunities
Benefits:
