The European Handball Federation (EHF) is a leading sports organisation that oversees 50 national and two associated federations across Europe. As the recognised governing body, the EHF is dedicated to the organisation and management of prominent handball competitions. The scope of duties exceeds event arrangement, as the EHF focuses on developing the game from grassroots to top-level events.

Job Overview

This is an opportunity to work for a major European sports federation and contribute to the further development of the legal environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for working across various internal departments and external organisations to support the legal department's goals.

About the Role

The In-House Lawyer position involves key duties such as contract development, data protection, intellectual property rights, and bid conditions implementation. Additionally, the role requires creating and revising guidelines, regulations, and other statutory documents, as well as managing data protection law and contracts for the entire organisation.

  • Develop and revise contracts, DPAs, partnerships, organisers, TV, media agreements, etc.
  • Create and revise guidelines, regulations, bid conditions, conventions, and other statutory documents
  • Manage data protection law and data protection contracts for the entire organisation, including its subsidiary company

The ideal candidate should have experience in contract drafting and a good understanding of data protection, intellectual property, and contract law. A Master's degree in law with a specialisation in sport would be advantageous.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • 1-3 years' experience working in a similar position, preferably in an international sports environment
  • Education reflecting comprehensive legal knowledge

A competitive salary of €44,800 per annum is offered, along with opportunities for professional growth and development in an exciting international career. Regular travel may be required, but this will be discussed during the recruitment process.
