Job Description

AIT Austrian Institute of Technology GmbH is seeking a highly skilled Scientist to join our Center for Vision, Automation & Control in Vienna. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the development of innovative 3D inspection and measurement systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop concepts, specifications, and procedures for 3D inspection and measurement systems
  • Research and implement innovative computer vision methods and tools using advanced mathematical methods, optimization methods, and AI techniques
  • Transfer research results to industrial applications in areas such as metal industry, energy transition, and security prints
  • Contribute to the content of our research topics through involvement in various research and industry projects
  • Write proposals and applications for research projects and lead their implementation according to the highest scientific standards
Requirements
  • Completed technical studies (at least MSc.) in computer science, mathematics, electrical engineering, physics, or related fields
  • Very good knowledge in computer vision or image processing, especially in the design of complex solutions or systems
  • Experience with 3D reconstruction technologies, software development, and corresponding programming languages (Python, C++, CUDA, and/or MATLAB)
  • Experience in system or software architecture design for machine vision applications and project management
  • Good network in academia or industry and several years of experience in project or team lead
  • High level of commitment and ability to work in a team
  • Very good language skills in English (spoken & written); good German knowledge is an asset
What We Offer
  • Minimum gross annual salary on a full-time basis (38.5 h/week) according to the collective agreement is EUR 57,890
  • Actual salary will be determined individually based on qualifications and experience
