About the Role

Siemens Technology is seeking a highly skilled Principal Key Expert to drive the development of AI-based configuration and planning technologies. This is a key role in the global Technology Field "Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence" with teams in USA, China, India, Romania, and Germany.

Main Responsibilities

  • Drive the technology roadmap for configuration and planning technologies, focusing on AI trends such as GenAI and hybrid AI formalisms.
  • Transform tools and solutions for complex tasks in business processes, analyzing technical trends and deriving improvement actions.
  • Initiate projects with Siemens business units to support customer demands where configuration technologies can make a difference.
  • Develop patent portfolios and advise management on system concepts, innovation, technical risk, and competitor analysis.
  • Contribute to expert networks, committees, and international conferences/published journals.

Requirements

  • Internationally known expert in AI technologies with 10+ years R&D experience.
  • Strong expertise in product and systems configuration, mass customization, and knowledge representation and reasoning.
  • Advanced strategic thinking and communication and leadership skills.
  • Very good skills of written and oral German and English.
  • Work base in Vienna, business travels mainly in Europe.
