Financial Controller for Austria and Slovakia

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our team in Austria. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for the preparation and review of departmental P&Ls, quarterly & annual financial statements, and annual budgets.

Responsibilities:
  • Preparation and review of departmental P&Ls, quarterly & annual financial statements, and annual budgets
  • Liaising with external advisors on the preparation of statutory financial information and tax computations
  • Oversight of day-to-day accounting operations, including A/R, A/P, Credit, GL, Capital Expenditure, Payroll, VAT, Treasury, Revenue Recognition, and Cost Accounting
  • Preparation of timely internal monthly accounts (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cashflows, and Analysis) for review by the regional and global accounting teams
  • Conducting reviews and evaluations for cost reduction opportunities and driving initiatives to promote efficient and cost-effective operations
  • Providing financial and accounting expertise and support for regional business operations management teams (budgets etc.)

You will work closely with your team to ensure continuous awareness and understanding of policies and regulations.

A small accounting team will also report to you.

Your Profile:
  • Relevant bachelor's or master's degree in finance or accounting
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting and finance in Austria and Slovakia
  • Good command of Slovak, English, and German at minimum B2 level
  • High level of Austrian and Slovakian tax and regulatory knowledge
  • Experience in compliance and internal controls
  • UGB and preferably US GAAP experience
  • Good knowledge of MS Office, including Excel Formulas and Pivot Tables
