Senior Manager Procurement Freight Procurement Leader

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager in Freight Procurement to join our Magna Corporate Purchasing Europe team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing the commodity strategy for freight logistics commodities.

Your Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the commodity strategy for freight logistics, aligning with the company's overall strategic objectives.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings, risk mitigation, and process improvements.
  • Prepare request documents and associated bids.
  • Evaluate offers, negotiate, and present results to the sourcing board and management.
  • Lead the negotiation, contracting processes, and supplier relationships for freight logistics commodities.
  • Develop, negotiate, and conclude individual and framework agreements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to generate commodity synergies and achieve the best possible outcomes for stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the European Purchasing teams across Magna Groups.
  • Enhance existing templates and tools to effectively present projects and savings.
  • Improve data quality in existing systems.
  • Lead and manage a team of logistics professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure successful execution of strategies and projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of several years in procurement and sourcing within the automotive industry, with specific experience in Freight Procurement.
  • Experience in organizing cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills, with a focus on driving cost reduction and supplier performance improvement.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain management principles.
  • Strong expertise in commodities strategy definition and implementation.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at various levels.
  • Team leader skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a team of professionals.
  • Independent work style, hands-on mentality, and analytical thinking.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken German and English. Additional languages would be beneficial.
  • Proficient in MS Office and SAP.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
