Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Global Commodity Buyer to join our team in Vienna. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing global procurement strategies for our company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement global procurement strategies for our company
  • Collaborate with our global procurement network to source commodities
  • Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with strategic suppliers
  • Initiate, lead, and/or support procurement projects and strategic supplier initiatives
  • Identify and develop new suppliers to mitigate risks and benchmark prices
  • Manage the tendering and global procurement processes in line with internal approval guidelines
  • Support the definition of specifications
  • Recognize risks in the supply chain and create plans to mitigate them
  • Be a strong partner in make-or-buy decisions
  • Ensure the completeness of specifications from the supplier side
  • Be responsible for supplier development and supplier evaluation
  • Implement transparent reporting
Requirements:
  • Completed technical education (Mechanical Engineering, Business Engineering, Electrical Engineering) HTL, University), additional business education advantageous
  • Team player, analytical skills, communication skills
  • Strategic procurement experience (at least 3 years) and skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge in the fields of economics and business administration
  • Good Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel) and procurement software (preferably SAP) knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken
  • Critical thinking and negotiation skills
  • Planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Travel readiness (30%)
