About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to lead our Geospatial team within our Data Assets department at Kpler. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring efficient operations and aligning with overall team objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Define and monitor team goals, supervise activities, and maintain focus on priorities.
  • Geospatial Expertise: Serve as the expert on Geospatial business logic/rules/datasets.
  • Data Integration: Identify and integrate new datasets into our geospatial database.
  • Business Logic Development: Develop and test business logic, create geospatial dashboards, and manage Port-related geometries.
  • Resource Allocation: Allocate resources, support team members, and identify training needs.
  • Automation and Integration: Implement automation strategies, integrate new data sources, and maintain related platforms.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with tech stakeholders for infrastructure needs and support commercial teams with data insights.
  • Data Quality: Enhance proprietary geospatial data quality and keep the team aligned with company objectives.
  • Performance Metrics: Manage KPIs and OKRs, provide insights for improvement, and support product development.
Requirements
  • Analytical Mindset: Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL and Python; familiarity with visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker).
  • Geospatial Experience: Experience with geospatial software (QGIS/ArcGIS) and spatial databases.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of statistics and analytics, as well as knowledge of maritime datasets and industry trends.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Project Management: Project management experience.
  • Database Technologies: Familiarity with modern database technologies and SaaS.
  • Maritime Industry: Understanding of the Maritime Industry and its operational dynamics.
