Head of QA Operations

At ÖBB, we are dedicated to enhancing mobility solutions across Austria through our innovative Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) platform and the wegfinder application. Our mission is to seamlessly connect users with various mobility options, allowing them to plan journeys, compare services, and book transportation directly within our app.

As a vital member of our cross-functional development teams, you will play a key role in the design and enhancement of our platform. Your primary responsibility will be to uphold the quality of our offerings and refine our QA processes. We are looking for individuals who set high standards for their work and are passionate about the quality of the wegfinder experience.

Your Responsibilities

  • Guide and mentor the QA team to foster effective collaboration and performance.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to manage release schedules and oversee release preparations and communications.
  • Oversee app store releases and ensure compliance with updates.
  • Provide essential tools and streamline QA operations to ensure testing environments accurately reflect production conditions.
  • Enhance and govern QA processes to align with the overarching IT strategy.
  • Establish and maintain QA-related KPIs to identify areas for improvement.
  • Monitor the performance of our mobility transport integrations in daily operations.
  • Encourage active participation from QA team members within their cross-functional delivery teams.
  • Lead field testing initiatives focused on user-centric issue identification and resolution.

Your Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in software testing, particularly in manual testing of mobile applications (Android & iOS).
  • Skilled in various testing methodologies, including both code-based and no-code automation techniques.
  • Comprehensive understanding of standard software release processes and IT architectural frameworks.
  • Exceptional communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to both developers and testers.
  • A proactive approach to addressing root causes of issues, viewing quality from a holistic perspective.
  • Innovative mindset with the ability to identify and leverage opportunities for process enhancements.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Android and iOS native applications, Tricentis Test Management, Charles Proxy, Jira, Confluence, and Slack.
