About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Ion Trap Development Engineer to join our team in Villach, Austria. As a key member of our quantum computing group, you will be responsible for driving the development of cutting-edge ion trap chips and advancing their integration into quantum processing units (QPUs).

In this role, you will:

  • Drive technology development for trapped-ion quantum processors with a focus on photonic interfaces.
  • Co-develop the next generations of QPUs with our commercial partners.
  • Enable the research community through projects with academic partners.
  • Supervise master and PhD students.

About You

To thrive in this role, you should have a strong background in physics, quantum engineering, photonics, or computational physics. Additionally, you should bring 3+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, quantum optics, and/or (trapped-ion) quantum computing.

You are a proactive individual with a passion for new technologies and a desire to make a meaningful impact in the field of quantum computing.
