DescriptionThe Opportunity: We are seeking a Senior Structural Modeller to assist our growing National Transport team in the design and delivery of a range of civil structures.
This role provides an opportunity to work on a range of road & highway, airport, mining, maritime & ports and heavy industrial projects and contribute to the growth of the Transport team within Tonkin.
Our ideal candidate would have 10+ years' experience in Structural modelling with a technical background in the design and documentation of bridges, culverts, retaining structures, gantries and other civil structures.
Who You Are: A passionate and proactive team player with excellent communication skills (written and verbal).A technical problem-solver with demonstrated experience in a range of civil and transport projects.Enthusiastic about working in multi-disciplinary teams in a national team format.Where You Are: The role is to be based at Tonkin's head office in Adelaide however the candidate will work on projects throughout Australia, predominately South Australia, Queensland, NSW and Victoria.What You Bring: Relevant qualifications: Associate Degree/Diploma of Design or Engineering10+ years of professional experience in structural modelling and design, ideally within a consulting environment.Demonstrated experience using software such as Revit, AutoCAD and Autodesk Construction Cloud on a range of small and large projects in the transport and infrastructure fields.Experience creating and manipulating Revit Families.A strong understanding of BIM delivery on Government and non-Government projects.Demonstrated technical background in the modelling and design of structures including: Bridges, Large culverts, Retaining structures, Gantries and large signage structures, Small buildings, Pump stations, pipelines and other utility services.Experience with relevant Australian Standards, Industry Design Guides and Local Authority Specifications.Strong ability to communicate complex engineering concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.Efficient multi-tasker with a fundamental understanding of project delivery processes.Bonus Points: Leadership and mentoring experience, including technical upskilling and resource management of a small team.Recent experience delivering projects for the SA Department for Infrastructure & Transport, SA Water or the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads.Experience in the design and documentation of Maritime Structures.Experience using integrated 3D Modelling platforms such as Navisworks and Revisto.What You'll Do: Apply your technical expertise to the design of a range of civil structures projects, ensuring compliance with all applicable standards and regulations.Provide inputs to other engineers and drafters in producing high-quality deliverables.Collaborate seamlessly with other disciplines to ensure project coordination.Deliver well-documented designs, including drawings and models meeting Tonkin's and client standards.Mentor and guide junior engineers within the team, fostering their technical growth and staying abreast of the latest advancements in design and construction technologies.The Tonkin difference: We know people perform at their best when they enjoy coming to work.
