Business Development Representative (Building & Construction)Reporting to the Building and Construction Business Development Manager (BDM), the role of Building and Construction Business Development Representative (BDR) is primarily responsible for targeting new end users and business opportunities while also nurturing key client relationships to drive growth and ensure long-term success, with a focus on the Building and Construction market sector.Due to the nature of the role, you may be required to travel interstate/intrastate from time to time.About MakitaMakita Corporation was founded in 1915 as an electric motor sales and repair company, and in 1958 became the first company in Japan to manufacture electric planers.
Now, over one hundred years on, we have a reputation as the world leading manufacturer of power tool products for the Building & Construction, Industrial Maintenance, Power Garden, and Commercial Cleaning industries.Primary Responsibilities:Focus activities consistent with the goals and objectives of the business and as directed by the BDM.Regular and ongoing reporting of market opportunities and trends to the BDM and other relevant team members.Collecting feedback from the market and reporting to the BDM and other relevant team members.Presenting Makita's capabilities directly to the target end user audience.Maintain a database of target end users for further development.Actively participate in trade expos and onsite product demonstrations as required.What We Need From You:Experience with power tools and equipment.Familiarity with construction sites, both commercial and civil (desired but not required).Solutions-focused, lateral thinker, and the ability to react and adapt within a fast-paced environment.Adaptive interpersonal and communication skills.Confident with cold calling activity.Comfortable presenting to both large and small groups.Intermediate MS Office skills such as Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.CultureAt Makita, we value our culture and the way we work together to deliver results.
