About the RoleThe purpose of this role is to drive WHSE culture and compliance through supporting and implementing our Work Health Safety, and Environmental Management System to ensure all areas and associated risks are effectively managed across the sites, and to provide WHSE project support and related training.
This position further assists the Business to ensure the WHSE aspects of the Management Systems are maintained, complied with and audited as required in accordance with our current HSE certification accreditations.
Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Assist with WHSE improvement initiativesProvide support to sites in identifying and managing risks and hazards, including using a collaborative and adaptive approach to determine and implement suitable controlsProvide support to sites on completing incident investigations and implementing corrective actionsAssisting in targeted upskilling of some site leaders (with support and training from the Head of Safety and Wellbeing)Lead the reviewing and implementation of company and site policies and procedures at operational levelUndertake regular site visits to conduct verifications on critical processes, inspections and observations to ensure sites are meeting the requirements of WHS & E legislation and company policies and proceduresAct as a key interface between external injury management and Workers' Compensation support and the operationsProvide support to sites to implement induction and training program utilising internal and external resources as appropriate.About YouTo see you successful in this role you will have:
Evidence of strong engagement, communication, and organisational skillsA history of identifying and solving operational problems in a collaborative manner (in a safety or other context)Strong interpersonal skills, including the abilities to influence, coach, alter plans to evolving contexts, understand different perspectives, and prioritise effectively within a broader business contextSelf-driven with an ability to work independently and consistentlyEvidence of a competent level of WHSE technical/ professional knowledgeDesire to improve HSE knowledgebase, and to manage learning (during work hours) as supported by Head of Safety and Wellbeing1-3 years' experience in a similar role; or in a role that has exposed you to problem solving and engagement within an operational environmentModerate understanding of risk and risk managementPrevious experience in supporting safe behaviour at all levels in previous roles.Experience in working to deadlines and carrying out tasks diligentlyAbout ApplyingIf you're ready to take the next step in your health and safety career, click "Apply for this job" below to apply for this role.
