Travel Sales Consultant

This hybrid role is based in our Sydney, NSW office, you must live within a commutable distance. Destination Sport Experiences, through its global sports travel brands Marathon Tours & Travel and Sportive Breaks, cater for those who want to participate in the very best cycling and running events across the world.
All three brands offer tours, travel packages, and guaranteed entry to marathons and cycling events around the world, together with VIP hospitality access to many of the top professional cycling events, as well as managing travel programs for mass participation events on behalf of charities, companies, and groups throughout the year.
We are a proud partner of many of the Abbott World Marathon Majors and work closely with major sports events organizers across the globe.
The team behind Destination Sport Experiences regularly participates in running and cycling events, as well as helping to manage events and support our clients on their journey through each event, so we understand the needs of those traveling with us.
Due to exciting growth within the division, we are looking for an experienced Travel Sales Consultant to join our Sydney-based team.
The focus of this role is to be passionate about offering exceptional levels of service and enjoy creating memorable experiences for our customers.
No two days are the same in this sales-focused role, but on a typical day you will: Create and manage end-to-end travel bookings tailored to each customer's needs Provide excellent levels of customer service experience that can't be felt anywhere else Achieve and exceed set sales targets Research and maintain an extensive knowledge of travel industry products, systems, and processes Proactively respond to and generate enquiries Achieve sales targets by offering our clients a range of services and upsell enhancements Identify each client's needs and preferences to propose products that meet their needs and expectations Ensure sales opportunities are maximized Handle enquiries and reservation requests from clients, completing reservations using company-nominated systems Give accurate quotations to each client and effectively convert to booking Identify any operational problems or potential complaints as soon as they are apparent, so that they can be resolved as quickly as possible Produce accurate documentation for all bookings Respond and follow up on all client requests Complete all details for each client's holiday within relevant systems, ensuring that information required is entered accurately and consistently Store accurate information relating to our clients Ensure quality control procedures are maintained and continually improved Be responsible for final document checks before sending out to a client To be successful within this role, our ideal candidate will: Have working experience within a similar role within the travel industry (sports travel experience would be highly desirable) Be confident in planning & managing own trips Demonstrate experience dealing with high volumes of email and call requests, processing complex travel bookings Have exceptional administration & organizational skills with the ability to multitask Possess excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to communicate to a variety of stakeholders both internal & external Demonstrate excellent attention to detail Be computer literate with strong IT skills: especially with Microsoft packages (Excel, Word) Demonstrate the ability to provide exceptional customer service Have the ability to keep calm in an often demanding role Knowledge of travel management systems and/or tracking systems would be highly advantageous Have a passion for sport and travel Be willing to travel domestically & internationally per business needs So if you have a passion for sports and are looking for your next challenge, take a look and get in touch we'd love to hear from you
