About the Role The EIS team (Enterprise Integration Services) is looking for people who are passionate about great engineering, have the humility to transition from expert to learner to learn new things and who can lead themselves and others through ongoing change.

We are passionate about delivering robust, flexible and secure integration platforms and offering integration capability as a service.
Our Engineers design, build, test and support integration solutions across platforms working closely with other squad members to ensure customer outcomes.
We strive for continual innovation in what we deliver and how we work.
What will your day look like?
Developing new skills in Kafka platform support.
Reviewing daily system-generated incidents, alerts, notifications.
Monitoring the daily platform support email inbox, responding to technology customer queries.
Following standard processes for deployment, change management and incident management.
Building continuous delivery practices to increase delivery speed.
Participating in collaborative teams to build robust and scalable integration platforms.
Utilising tools in best practices to build, verify and deploy platform solutions while learning about efficiency and robustness.
Be mentored, coached and advised by senior colleagues about how to support, assemble, and deploy effective solutions.
Note that this role is not for Kafka software development – it is for Kafka platform support, including deployment, configuration, optimisation and maintenance.
Undertake on call support overnight and on weekends, on a rotating roster.
What will you bring?
Background in platform support combined with broad capabilities and experience to maintain technologies and tooling.
Essential: Kubernetes, Kafka, any one programming language (Java, Python, NodeJs, ReactJs) Some experience in one or more software development roles previously eg: Integration Engineer, Platform Operations Engineer.
Have a thirst and willingness to expand knowledge with new technologies and techniques bringing benefits into the Technology Area.
Work closely with Product Owner in managing application deployments, change planning and contributing to operational discussions.
Ability to quickly grasp new content and apply learning across disciplines.
Ability to write technical documentation covering audit, disaster recovery, observability, coding standards and more.
