The Faculty of Science teaches approximately 7000 full-time student equivalents, with an academic staff of approximately 500 and general staff of 300.
The Faculty is one of the largest and most complex faculties of UNSW Sydney.
It comprises the School of Aviation, Biological Earth and Environmental Science (BEES), Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences (BABS), Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering (MSE), Mathematics and Statistics, Psychology, and Physics.
It also includes several major Research Centres and field stations.
The Project Manager, Impact Indicators will develop, plan and implement the Impact Indicators and associated activities under UNSW Science's Pact for Impact initiative.
This role will work closely with colleagues in the Science External Engagement portfolio to ensure best practice, coordination and collaboration with other Faculties and Divisions.
The Project Manager, Impact Indicators will collaborate with and support the Associate Dean Impact Partnerships and the External Engagement team to achieve these aims.
The position is responsible for supporting the development of the Impact Indicators platform, including design and delivery of the adoption strategy, supporting collateral and stakeholder engagement.
The role will also be responsible for supporting new developments and initiatives aligned with and arising from the Impact Indicators initiative.
About the role• LEVEL 8 - $123k - $138k plus 17% Superannuation and annual leave loading • Fixed Term – 12 months • Full-time (35 hours per week) – We are also able to consider part-time options. The Project Manager, Impact Indicators, reports to the Associate Dean, Impact Partnerships and the Senior External Engagement Manager (Science).
Specific responsibilities for this role include:Further develop the Impact Indicators platform, including the development of the existing proof of concept through to a pilot and then launch.
This includes a range of tasks including, improving and developing innovation, design thinking, and developing effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders.Collaborate with the Associate Dean Impact Partnerships to develop Impact Indicator operational and management strategies, including implementation and evaluation plans and key performance indicators.Work closely with members of the External Engagement team to ensure best practice in delivery of tasks and initiatives.Work closely with members of the IT team to ensure best practice in delivery of technology assets aligned with data governance and cybersecurity standards.Identify, design, initiate and manage projects to support the achievement of the Impact Indicator operational and management strategies.Manage the development of new initiatives aligned with and arising from the Impact Indicator platform.Provide reporting and oversight of financial commitments, including budgeting and financial projections, for the Impact Indicator project.Design and implement a process to competitively recruit ambassadors.
Involve this group in the development and execution of various projects.Analyse and report on the effectiveness of the Impact Indicator platform against Faculty strategy and generate regular reports for internal and external stakeholders to inform future strategic decisions.Consult with the relevant Faculty and central teams on developing and maintaining policy and procedural documents related to the Impact Indicator platform.Manage project dependencies, risks, compliance, corporate governance and due diligence requirements for all projects.Work collaboratively with the Associate Dean Impact Partnerships and the External Engagement team to develop and deliver the Faculty's strategic goals in regards to external engagement.Align with and actively demonstrate the Code of Conduct and Values.Ensure hazards and risks psychosocial and physical are identified and controlled for tasks, projects, and activities that pose a health and safety risk within your area of responsibility.About the successful applicant(Selection Criteria)To be successful in this role you will have:
Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.Proven project management experience including the ability to plan, implement and coordinate complex projects in line with objectives and budget, and report on outcomes.Knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures.Demonstrated high level analytical and problem-solving skills and understanding of compliance and risk management.
Excellent consultation, influencing and negotiation skills and proven ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.Demonstrated success working effectively and collaboratively on initiatives with a range of people at different levels within an organisation.High level of experience working with a range of computer systems and applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and data management tools.
Demonstrated experience with Power BI will be highly desirable.Demonstrated experience with reporting and oversight of financial commitments, including budgeting and financial projections.High-level organisational skills and the ability to work with initiative and under minimal supervision to effectively achieve goals.Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training, with the ability to implement required UNSW health and safety policies and procedures.An understanding of and commitment to UNSW's aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.You should systematically address the selection criteria listed within the position description in your application.
