Job Title: Finance Officer (Maternity Cover)
Reporting To: Finance Manager
The Finance Officer will report to the Finance Manager who they will support in all aspects of delivering the effective and efficient financial management of Lancing College, its Prep Schools in Hove and Worthing and its trading subsidiary.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities To support the Finance Manager in all aspects of financial management including:Budget preparation, monitoring and reportingProviding support and advice to budget managersBank and balance sheet reconciliationsThe preparation of the year-end financial accounts and assist with the annual auditAssist with the preparation of the termly management accounts including the entering of accruals and pre-payments, variance analysis and reconciliationsAd-hoc financial analysis and reporting as requiredSupport with the completion of all annual and quarterly National StatisticsTo generally support the Finance Team, including the Purchase Ledger and Fee Administration functionsTo deputise for the Finance Manager in their absenceRequired Skills, Qualifications and Personal Qualities Attention to detail and a high level of accuracySound working knowledge of all Microsoft applications, particularly ExcelRecognised accountancy qualification – part or fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/AAT or equivalent)Strong interpersonal and communication skillsApproachable, personable and able to deal with a wide variety of peopleKnowledge of using iSAMS and iFinancePrevious accounting experience in a school environmentMember of a relevant professional bodyApplication Procedure: Applications should be made using the application form.
