Townsville University Hospital, located adjacent to one of Queensland's leading tertiary institutions, James Cook University, is the largest tertiary hospital in northern Australia, providing specialist referral services for 700,000 people living from Mackay, to the Torres Strait, to the Northern Territory border.
The Patient Services Officer role delivers exceptional person-centred customer service to patients, their families and the public.

About the opportunity: Position: Patient Services Officer
Vacancy: Permanent Full-time, 76 hours per fortnight
Location: Community Mental Health Campuses and Townsville University Hospital
What's on offer? Remuneration package of up to $82,439 p.a. Salary range: $61,949 to $72,254 p.a.
(AO2)4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading12.75% employer contribution to superannuationProvide quality person-centred care in a friendly and helpful manner; communicate clearly and confidently with patients, members of the public and departmental staff both in person and over the telephone whilst adhering to Queensland Health guidelines on confidentiality.Build good relationships with patients, their families and work colleagues by using strong communication and negotiation skills and deliver a service that meets their needs with adherence to policy and standards.Respond to and resolve non-clinical and general frontline enquiries by providing accurate and timely information to support patients and staff within scope of role and in line with relevant procedures.Role requirements: All employees of the Mental Health Service Group may be required to work in other areas of the Service.
