The Tasmanian State Service (TSS) is the largest employer in Tasmania, with over 28,000 employees providing services to the Tasmanian community at all levels.
The Emergency Department team at Launceston General Hospital (LGH), as part of the Department of Health Tasmania, consists of highly skilled emergency physicians, nurses, paramedics, and support staff who collaborate to provide urgent and life-saving care to the community.
The team utilises advanced medical protocols to assess, stabilise, and treat patients with acute conditions, ranging from trauma to medical emergencies.
The Role: Provide expert, patient-centred nursing care in a high-pressure Emergency Department setting.Deliver advanced clinical care for critically ill or injured patients, including trauma, cardiac, and paediatric emergencies.Safely manage deteriorating patients with prompt interventions.Collaborate with the care team for comprehensive critical care management.Manage multiple patient presentations simultaneously in a dynamic and unpredictable environment.Details of appointment: Multiple permanent, full-time and part-time, shift worker (fully rotational) positions, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed date.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full-time, part-time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $70,980 to $78,179 per annum (Pro rata).
Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023.In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type.Benefits available to eligible candidates: Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees.Professional development and accelerated pathways.Excellent leave benefits: 20 days annual leave (pro rata), 20 days personal leave (pro rata), and study assistance leave if eligible.Fitness Passport – You and your family can access 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $13.95 per week per person, or $25.95 for a family.Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
