The Lincoln Institute of Higher Education (LIHE), trading as Lincoln Education Australia (LEA), is an entirely new and established in cooperation another not-for-profit institution, sharing long standing charitable educational roots and a strong commitment to humane values.
LIHE will welcome its first cohort of students to study Bachelor of Community Services.
The Bachelor of Community Service course is designed to prepare graduates with broad and coherent knowledge, insightand practical experience in working within the community services sector.
LIHE seeks to build a cohesive, equitable, and culturally diverse team, complementing each course with suitably qualified academics who are skilled in contemporary teaching and learning principles relevant to each discipline.
Academic staff (Lecturer/Senior Lecturer) are expected to carry out teaching and learning duties in accordance with the approved curriculum, LIHE policies and procedures, values, and standards, upholding high professional standards and leading by example.
The position draws on extensive academic excellence to underpin and carry out teaching, research or scholarship, leadership, and management in the related field and within the faculty and to maintain their own continuing professional development.
Academic staff are expected to contribute to LIHE teaching activities across a range of undergraduate and post graduate courses and further development of courses as well as associated administrative and other activities.
Also, to plan and implement teaching and learning activities and perform student assessments as per the course curriculum, maintaining the highest standard of academic integrity in accordance with the mission, core values and purposes of LIHE.
Promoting and fostering organisational culture of high-quality education embracing cultural diversity instilling humane values and intercultural awareness.
Responsibilities and Duties The responsibilities and duties for both Lecturers and Senior Lecturers include:
Delivering high quality teaching and student experience utilising sound pedagogical methodologies and innovative technologies
Collaborate and contribute to the designing and preparing subject outlines, developing syllabuses, creating lesson plans, and designing subject assessments.
Actively participate in coordinating the subject to provide the tutors with appropriate guidance for the effective operation of the semester.
High quality supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.
Demonstrated ability and willingness to deliver high quality and innovative teaching and student experience to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Provide academic guidance and support to students, including advising on course selections, providing feedback on assignments, and mentoring.
Mark and assess student assignments, exams, and coursework in accordance with subject or course coordinator guidelines and LIHE's policies and standards.
Actively engage with industry and the community to develop significant productive relationships, attract industry funding, and participate in professional activities.
Involvement in broad administrative functions of the faculty, attend departmental and/or faculty meetings, involvement in Open Days and recruitment activities and play a major role in planning and/or committee work or other responsibilities, as directed by the Academic Dean and/or Course Coordinator.
High level communication skills and ability to network effectively and interact with a diverse range of students and staff.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
Liaise with the subject or course coordinator to maintain a fair and objective grading system, address plagiarism and academic dishonesty, and promote ethical research practices.
Maintain professional development by publishing peer-review articles, attending conferences, workshops, and seminars, keeping up-to-date with the latest research and teaching practices in the relevant field.
In addition to the above responsibilities and duties, Senior Lecturers are expected to:
Conduct research in their area of expertise and publish their work in academic journals.
They may also secure research grants to support their work and collaborate with colleagues on research projects.
Cultivate research links with other groups and disciplines within the faculty and on campus, and with the industry and the professions.
Engage in academic administration and service to the wider academic and professional community.
Contribute to the design and delivery of the LIHE's teaching programs and courses.
This includes a high-level engagement in the development of new courses and provide guidance to other lecturers.
Actively participate in Faculty activities; demonstrating an ability and willingness to take on leadership roles.
Undertake administrative duties and broad administrative functions as specified and participate in Faculty and/or LIHE committees as required.
A major role in planning or committee work
Essential Selection Criteria
A Ph.D. (AQF 10 or equivalent) in a relevant discipline with demonstrated effective teaching experience of 5 to 10 years within a related area in a higher education institution for Senior Lecturer
A Level 8/9 AQF qualification and progress or commitment to undertake a PhD for Lecturer level position
Qualification in an area that relates to the subject they are teaching and at least 2 years fulltime relevant Industry experience in the Community Services
Demonstrated capacity or potential to conduct research evidenced by international/peer reviewed or equivalent publications and success in attracting research funding
A record or potential for high quality teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
Demonstrated accomplishment in or capacity to make a contribution to administration in an academic environment
Capacity to interact with industry, relevant authorities and professional organisations
"In depth" knowledge and expertise in a minimum of two subject areas and "Moderate" knowledge and expertise in a minimum of two subject areas listed in the attached "Knowledge and Skills Requirement Matrix".
In addition to the above responsibilities and duties, Senior Lecturers are expected to have:
The capacity for academic leadership.
A significant record of achievement in independent research evidenced by international/peer reviewed or equivalent publications.
A significant record of high-quality teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Experience in the management of quality systems and quality assurance frameworks, procedures and regulations in higher education.
Experience of working and managing effective learning systems, and policies and procedures.
Desirable Selection Criteria
An additional qualification in higher education teaching and learning (e.g., Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Teaching & Learning)
Membership of a relevant professional association; and
Experience in leading and managing online and blended learning environments.

All staff at LIHE are required to take all reasonable precautions for their own health and safety and that of other personnel who may be affected through their conduct.
All staff are required to understand OHS responsibilities applicable to their position in LIHE.
Additional OHS responsibilities apply for staff supervisors, Managers, and other senior LIHE personnel.
