PurposeThe role of the Financial Accounting Team Leader is to handle end-to-end financial accounting for Flight Centre Travel Group's Australian Leisure Brand, including General Ledger Close Process management, monthly reporting, and supporting EOFY and Half-Year audits.
The Team Leader will be responsible for accounting for stores, online and luxury brands, marketing, and support divisions, covering cash, debtors, creditors, revenue recognition, wages, expenses, and management fees.
Day to day you'll be... Manage the month-end GL close processes for the Leisure businessReview of Balance Sheet Reconciliations and reporting to across the Leisure businessTimely and accurate preparation of monthly Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet reviews, including commentary and analysisSupport the Group Financial Reporting team with EOFY and Half-Year external audits, by delivering on the Leisure brand audit requirements.Protect our business by monitoring and reviewing at risk itemsEnsure compliance with company policies, relevant accounting standards and FCL minimum standards for financial systems and processesConstantly look to improve efficiencies within finance workflow processesAssist with special projects and the implementation of systems and process improvement initiatives as they arisePeople:Lead the team with a clear vision and strategic direction.Inspire and motivate team members to cultivate a positive and engaging work culture.Foster an environment of psychological safety and openness.Provide constructive feedback, manage performance as needed, and hold team members accountable.Align and energise the team to achieve business objectives.Develop talent and promote a culture of continuous learning, supporting team member professional development.Support the FCTG way, adopting our Philosophies to foster and develop our extraordinary culture across all teamsManage succession planning to ensure future leadership and talent needs are met.We'd love to hear from you if you have... 5+ years' experience with/in ASX listed financial reporting teamsMeticulous eye for detail and curiosity to exploreStrong manager/coaching/leadership skillsHigh degree of flexibility and ability to deal with change, growth and pressure in a fast-paced environmentInterpersonal and communication skills with ability to develop relationships at all levelsTeam player who can motivate teams to excel, adopting our FCTG valuesExternal Audit experienceAdvanced excel skills, including modeling, use of power Automate and/or Power BI.CA/CPA qualified - Highly desirableUndergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or similarWhat you'll enjoy...
