Administration Assistant – Aboriginal Trainee Program Location: Various locations, Parramatta, Goulburn and Orange NSW Employment type: Multiple Temporary Full-Time roles for up to 12 months that may lead to permanent employment Salary: $70,694.00 pa - $76,857.00 pa, plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading This position is open to Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people only Your role The SSCX Aboriginal Trainee Program is run through the Department's Shared Services (SSCX) which provides a variety of Finance and Payroll transactional services to both the department as well as other Stronger Communities cluster entities.
Shared Services has offices in Parramatta and Goulburn, and Orange and will require trainees to rotate through functional teams residing in one of these locations.
What you'll do The Administration assistant will rotate through 2-to-3 transactional processing areas over a 12 month period, undertaking entry level tasks from a broad variety of shared services functions.
Each rotation will last approx.
3-to-4 months, however, may vary due to operational requirements.
At the conclusion of the 12 month program, performance in each of the rotational areas is assessed with a view to confirming suitability for ongoing placement.
Pending availability of roles within the Shared Services Centre, an ongoing offer of employment will be made to trainees who have successfully completed the program.
What we're looking for In addition to meeting the essential requirements, the successful candidate must demonstrate capabilities in:
Ability to provide sound clerical and administrative support to both internal and external clients Strong data entry/ keyboard skills with good attention to detail Proficient with As an Identified role, this position is open only to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander persons, Australia's First Nations people.

There are two alternatives to confirming your Aboriginality, one of which must be uploaded to be considered for the role as follows.

Written confirmation from 2-3 Aboriginal organisations within the community in which you live/work, which addresses the three criteria listed below:
is of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, and identifies as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, and is accepted as a such by the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community.
