Join our team as a Finance Business Analyst, where you will play a vital role in managing and enhancing the financial systems and reporting frameworks that support the State's disaster recovery efforts.
This role is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with senior stakeholders, analyse complex financial data, and drive meaningful improvements in the allocation and monitoring of disaster funding. Full time temporary role available up to 30 June 2026.Sydney based role with flexible work options and hybrid arrangements available.Clerk Grade 7/8 Salary ($106,025 - $117,363 per annum) plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loadingAbout the role:In this pivotal role, you will:Contribute to the day-to-day financial administration of the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) and other funding frameworks.Work with internal stakeholders to ensure robust, compliant, and efficient reporting and monitoring processes.Prepare high-level advice and reports to enable informed, timely, and compliant decision-making.Manage the preparation of periodic financial reports, briefs, and publications for senior stakeholders, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements.Analyse financial data to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis related to DRFA measures.Drive the implementation and enhancement of financial systems and reporting tools, including Power BI, to improve oversight and understanding of disaster recovery expenditure reporting.Lead business process improvement and transformation initiatives, including gap analyses and process reengineering.Develop and execute detailed project plans, covering requirement gathering, change management, user acceptance testing, and training.About You:To excel in this role, you will need:Experience working with funding allocations and financial systems in complex, sensitive environments.Strong analytical skills in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.Ability to interpret and present complex accounting issues clearly to senior management.Proficiency with data visualisation tools, such as Power BI, and an aptitude for identifying insights and trends.Familiarity with government sector reporting and compliance requirements.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.A proactive approach to driving process improvements and enhancing financial systems.In addition to this, you will also meet the following essential requirements:Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Business, Economics or Commerce or other relevant field and membership of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand or CPA Australia or IIA Australia, or equivalent relevant experience.About the AgencyThe NSW Reconstruction Authority (the Authority) is a statutory corporation within Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.
The Authority will improve how NSW plans for disasters and help communities to recover from them faster.To reduce the severity and impacts of disasters, the Authority will complete critical planning and preparation with communities, NGOs, businesses, and government.
