Compliance Operations Specialist, Square

Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square.
After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn't work together.
So we expanded into software and started building integrated, omnichannel solutions – to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, offer buy now, pay later functionality, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff.
Across it all, we've embedded financial services tools at the point of sale, so merchants can access a business loan and manage their cash flow in one place.
Afterpay furthers our goal to provide omnichannel tools that unlock meaningful value and growth, enabling sellers to capture the next generation shopper, increase order sizes, and compete at a larger scale.
Today, we are a partner to sellers of all sizes – large, enterprise-scale businesses with complex operations, sellers just starting, as well as merchants who began selling with Square and have grown larger over time.
As our sellers grow, so do our solutions.

The Role
The Compliance Team works to protect Square, Square Sellers, and enable safe growth across our ecosystem.
We are looking for a Compliance Operations Specialist to join our Australian Compliance team, to assist with compliance tasks within the merchant commerce space.
Reporting to the Compliance Ops Lead - Australia, you will perform detailed analysis and manage compliance queues.
You will analyze and manage Compliance cases in accordance with established procedures and identify any non-compliances relating to the Compliance Program and manage accordingly.
These functions include supporting know your customer processes and other components of the compliance program as required.
You Will Perform customer KYC onboardingConduct analysis of customer activities for non-compliance in accordance with policy and procedureMonitor Compliance Queues and Cases in a timely and effective mannerUse policies to decision cases and escalate as appropriateMaintain or exceed established service level agreements and guidelinesManage internal escalations through multiple channels (Internal Communication Systems, Customer Relationship Management systems) from stakeholdersConduct analysis of transactional and customer activity for non-compliant activity and escalate suspicious activity as neededAdvocate for customers and suggest improvements to Square processes and productsProvide entry level regulatory advice on Square Policies and ProceduresUndertake small projects and compliance program enhancementsParticipate in team planning and team meetingsProactively and positively engage in the team environment and support the compliance team.You Have 1+ years of Compliance Operations ExperienceLocated in Australia (Our offices are based in Melbourne which is where this team are all based)Experience working in a customer-focused environmentStrong research abilitiesDesire to improve the customer experiencePassion for Square and interest in the technology industryExperience working in a finance or risk environmentStrong analytical skills with a curious mindsetFin-tech, Banking or insurance industry experience would be highly advantageousWe're working to build a more inclusive economy where our customers have equal access to opportunity, and we strive to live by these same values in building our workplace.
