Your responsibilities will encompass maintaining compliance with relevant acts, overseeing regulatory adherence, and actively contributing to program portfolio enhancement.
Additionally, you will lead and support a team of housing professionals, driving positive change and fostering a culture of operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities: Quality Assurance and Compliance: Maintain expert knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act (2008) and Housing Act 2003.
Oversee organizational compliance under the National Regulatory System for Community Housing.
Service: Support operational alignment with St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland Housing's strategy.
Provide guidance to Housing staff for proactive identification and response to changing tenant needs.
Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Leadership: Create a dynamic culture of success, teamwork, and positive relationships.
Lead and communicate change effectively within the organization.
Supervise and support administration & operations employees, ensuring fulfilment of position requirements.
Recording and Reporting: Undertake reporting to meet organizational and funding body requirements within specified timeframes.
Monitor and report on key performance requirements, such as tenant rent arrears, property inspections, and budget adherence.
Notify the line manager of critical incidents or matters that may affect the organization's reputation.
This is a [Housing Quality and Compliance Lead – Permanent - Full Time] position (38 hours per week) role based in South Brisbane.
Desired Skills and Experience To be successful in the role, you will meet the following criteria: • Relevant qualification and/or minimum 5 years demonstrated experience in the delivery of community housing programs, human services, property and tenancy management services, or a related discipline or similar position.
• Comprehensive understanding of housing services, including tenancy management, regulatory and compliance requirements, and program delivery, is necessary.
Familiarity with relevant legislation, funding requirements, and best practices in the social services sector is critical.
• Demonstrated experience in the design and application of practice frameworks and guidelines to support positive outcomes for a diverse range of people including people who are highly vulnerable, have comorbidities, complex behaviours and/or barriers to sustaining housing.
• Strong leadership and management skills to create a positive and productive work culture, lead change initiatives, and foster collaboration among team members.
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex situations, identify opportunities for operational improvement, and develop innovative solutions.
• Project management skills to plan, execute, and evaluate initiatives within established timelines and budget constraints.
• Understanding of and commitment to the philosophy of the St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland and an ability to work in accordance with policies and procedures to promote the values and mission of the Society.
