The RoleMake a difference in our community
In this Fixed Term role, you will contribute to the development and implementation of policies, strategies, and plans that guide the effective management and enhancement of Council's open spaces.
You will collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders to ensure that parks, public spaces, and streetscapes are developed in alignment with Council objectives.
Your work will involve analyzing data to inform key metrics related to open space use, safety perceptions, and greening initiatives, as well as providing expert advice on Concept Plans, Detailed design, and strategic projects.
Additionally, you will play a key role in preparing Master Plans, Business Cases, Feasibility Studies, and other critical documents, all while upholding the City of Whittlesea's values and making lives better.
About YouYou are a creative problem solver with strong analytical and lateral thinking skills, backed by experience in tackling complex challenges related to open space networks, Crown land management, parks and reserves, or environmental management.
Your expertise in Open Space Planning and Landscape Architectural design practices allows you to prepare comprehensive master plans, concept plans, and high-level construction costings.
You possess an understanding of Victorian planning legislation, policies, and strategies as they relate to open space provision.
Collaboration is your forte—you excel in working with others to design open spaces, and you have the ability to critically evaluate both your own and others' designs.
Your strong graphical communication skills enable you to effectively convey ideas, concepts, and designs.
Additionally, you bring experience in consultation and community engagement within a Local Government context, utilizing a variety of planning methodologies and tools.
You are proficient in using Microsoft and Adobe creative suite, GIS, and have advanced CAD skills to support your work.
