Senior Communications & Engagement Advisor The Victorian Planning Authority (VPA) is a State Government statutory authority governed by the Victorian Planning Authority Act 2017.
Our focus is on integrated land use, built form and infrastructure planning outcomes for significant precincts and places in growing Victorian cities, suburbs and regions.
We collaborate with key partners and stakeholders to deliver the Victorian Government's planning policies in support of urban growth, housing, jobs and transport options.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Communications & Engagement Advisor in the Infrastructure, Strategy and Planning group.

The Senior Community Engagement Advisor is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of the VPA's community engagement programs.
This includes developing, with the project teams, detailed community engagement plans choosing from the full range of engagement types and techniques available to the VPA and most appropriate for the stakeholders being targeted.
This role requires consultation and the development of plans with VPA project teams that requires an understanding of the planning process and the goals of the project.
Providing project teams with fearless advice assessing the importance and sensitivity of each community engagement and the potential for negative community reaction and reputational harm to the VPA is a key element of the job.
This in turn will require the ability to scope the appropriate scale and resources required for successful engagement.
It includes the assessment and management of external engagement consultants when they are required to deliver major projects.
An increasing part of the role requires highly developed facilitation skills, both face-to-face at community engagement events and the increasingly important online events.
