About the role We are currently seeking a full-time temporary (12-month contract) Technical Officer to join our Serology & Immunology department, based in our North Ryde Laboratory.
Reporting to the Chief Scientist, you will be responsible for the routine functioning of our automated laboratory testing, result validation, as well as other general department duties as required.
Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
Processing of specimens including culturing – urines, swabs (various sites), faecesPreparation of smears for gram stain, reading of gram-stained slidesMicroscopy of cells in fluids, urinesIdentification of crystalsUsing analysers for urine microscopy and dipstick chemistryAbout you: To be successful in this role, you must meet the following parameters:
