This will be your foundation as we continue to support you in achieving your qualification and empower you to shape your future.
This training is proudly funded by the Queensland Government through its Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative.Be part of the next gen of GC Shapers Commencing in March 2025, our program provides professional development training and on-the-job experience pathways, designed to help you become qualified in your chosen career.

With a growing population and major events such as the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic games on the horizon, the City is faced with endless opportunities.In the role of Cyber Security Trainee, you will form part of a team dedicated to safeguarding our digital infrastructure and information.
This is a unique role that will provide hands-on experience in cyber security, including cyber engineering, threat detection, incident response, cyber safety education and vulnerability assessment.
You will contribute to a more secure digital environment by identifying, mitigating, and responding to cyber threats.Contributing to database maintenance and automation of services.Monitoring and analysing network traffic and system logs to identify and respond to potential security threats.Identifying and assessing vulnerabilities in systems and networks.Supporting the implementation of security controls to protect systems and data from cyber threats.Investigating and responding to security incidents to minimise damage and disruption.Staying informed about the latest cyber security threats, vulnerabilities and best practices.Helping to create and deliver training programs that will educate our people on safer cyber practices and behaviours.What we are looking for from youThe City is committed to developing skilled trainees and apprentices into future City leaders who:Are team players who embrace change and contribute positively to their workplace.Are highly motivated problem solvers with a curious mindset and good critical thinking skills.Are passionate self-starters eager to learn about cyber security and build a successful career.Are good communicators with basic language, literacy and numeracy skills, capable of understanding and following instructions in a high-risk environment.Have successfully completed Year 12.Applicants must have full working rights in Australia for the duration of the qualification and be able to work full-time.Here's how to applySubmit your resume and a cover letter.
