Job Description: Disability Support Worker (Australia) Position Title: Disability Support Worker
Location: Gold Coast Region (Labrador, Runaway Bay, Burleigh and Coombabah)
Employment Type: Casual
Reports To: Operations Manager
About the Role:
As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals with disabilities to live independently and achieve their personal goals.
You will provide high-quality, person-centred support tailored to each client's needs, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
Key Responsibilities: Personal Care: Assist clients with daily personal care needs, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, while respecting their dignity and independence.Household Tasks: Support clients with household activities such as cleaning, meal preparation, and laundry.Community Access: Accompany clients to appointments, social activities, and community events, promoting engagement and inclusion.Health and Safety: Administer medication (if trained) and monitor health conditions as per care plans, ensuring the client's safety at all times.Skill Development: Help clients develop life skills, such as cooking, budgeting, or using public transport, to enhance their independence.Documentation: Maintain accurate records of client activities, progress, and incidents as required.Advocacy: Advocate for clients' rights and needs, ensuring they are treated with respect and dignity.Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with clients, families, and other professionals to achieve care plan goals.Key Skills and Attributes: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Empathy, patience, and a positive attitude.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Physical capability to perform manual handling and other support tasks.Qualifications and Requirements: Certificate III or IV in Disability, Community Services, or a related field (or willingness to obtain).Current First Aid and CPR certification.Valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Check.NDIS Worker Screening Check (if applicable).Current driver's license and reliable vehicle (if required for the role).Experience in disability or community services is highly regarded but not essential.Why Join Us?
